The countdown is on to MIPIM 2020!

With only three months until Team Cardiff take their delegation to MIPIM, partners who have joined the contingent were present at the first MIPIM Partner event, recently held at Blake Morgan’s offices, central Cardiff.

23 partners are currently signed up to join Team Cardiff, which reflects the support and commitment of our city, and the city-region’s partners across all sectors.

MIPIM is the Region’s chance to get together, to work together, and to promote the region to the world. The conference is the world’s leading property event in Cannes, France and it is a unique opportunity to develop new trade and investment propositions with investors from across the world.

To put it quite simply, the Cardiff Capital Region offer is amongst the best in the UK and MIPIM is the number one event to showcase the region and if we’re not there we’re not competing.

Councillor Huw Thomas, Leader of Cardiff Council said, “We know that the case for investing in the Cardiff Capital Region is compelling. We house Cardiff, one of the fastest growing cities in the UK and we can boast as to having one of the most skilled workforces. We have competitive businesses, from HQs of FTSE 100 businesses, to the new wave of challenger banks, to emerging fin-tech, to production companies supplying the world’s leading streaming services. We also have a quality of life that is unsurpassed. What we also know is that much of our potential is untapped. At MIPIM we have an unrivalled opportunity to outline our plans for the Cardiff Capital Region”

“Bring there as the Cardiff Capital Region means that we are representing over one and a half million people and 45,000 businesses. We don’t see this as local governments attending with businesses. We see it simply as one delegation representing Cardiff and the city-region together”

Councillor Andrew Morgan, Chairman of the Cardiff Capital Region Cabinet said, “By going to MIPIM again this year, and in future years, we are telling the world that the Cardiff Capital Region and its Capital City is totally open for business.”

The region needs to build on this as the Capital City is the hook for broader investment. Businesses don’t recognise administrative boundaries, which is why MIPIM presents a unique opportunity for the public and private to stand side by side, working in partnership to present a united front to the world.

We are delighted to be working with our partners and showcase our respective talents, success, portfolio of opportunities and share our experiences on why the Cardiff Capital Region is a great place to live, work and invest in”.
